Day 7 – Spiritual Growth and Reflection

Woman praising God at a sunset.

“But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”                                            2 Corinthians 16-18

Day 7 – Spiritual Growth and Reflection

Wow, what a week it’s been!

I hope my journey spurs you on to your own spiritual growth and reflection journey!

I’ve learned amazing things about myself and how much God loves me and wants good things for my life. There is freedom in knowing I don’t have to be perfect before I enjoy the gifts God wants for me.

The call to seek God’s face was issued to His people because they had abandoned Him and needed to return to Him. I felt somewhat the same way when I began my journey.

So far on my spiritual growth journey:

  1. Spent quality time with my Creator and in His Word for seven days
  2. Meditated for seven days – prayed and listened.
  3. Worshiped at church.
  4. Read scriptures that spoke to my heart.
  5. I offered my book at an altar call.
  6. Fervently prayed for my family.
  7. Learned that God is in the everyday.
  8. Followed God’s command to further His Kingdom by telling others how to come into a relationship with Him.
  9. Committed to trust God when it comes to my family.
  10. And so much more!

My soul rejoices!

Insight

While I haven’t abandoned Him before this week, I haven’t exactly been seeking Him. And, oh, how I’ve missed Him.

It was a fantastic seven-day journey.

Some lessons I’ve learned:

  1. Spend purposeful time talking to God and listening to the nudges from the Holy Spirit
  2. Bring everything to Him – my troubles, concerns, hopes, and dreams.
  3. God is always there, waiting for me to come to Him.

Encouragement

My book may never be picked up by an agent or published. That’s okay! My Grandchildren may get into situations that would be better if they hadn’t. God is in control, loves them, and watches out for them.

It doesn’t mean I will stop asking God to intervene in the hard times. And I won’t stop hoping for something that hasn’t happened yet. But … Everything is in God’s timing.

God’s timing is perfect. His putting on my heart to start this seven-day spiritual journey couldn’t have come at a better time in my life.

Discovery

1 Corinthians 1:8 – “He will keep you strong to the end so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

In your quiet time with the Lord, open your Bibles and concentrate on a sentence, a paragraph, and/or an entire chapter. Let the words make sense to you, and ask God to reveal how it applies to you and your life. Thank Him that you understood what He wanted you to know.

Love Him, trust Him, and let Him be in control. He knows best!

“God’s Spirit convicts cleanly, without crushing words of shame. Be transformed by the truth that God lives within you. Let God’s Light shine in you, don’t dim it with worries or fears.”

Loving Christ brings freedom. Freedom to do and try what you want. Enjoy life. Look for ways to thank God for the little things. Go after that degree, that new job, promotion, wild idea. You are free to do it all when you walk daily with him and are being transformed into his likeness.

Conclusion

My absolute greatest joy would be for you to carve out seven days and go on your own spiritual journey. Be willing to open yourself up for what God wants to reveal.

Your journey will be different from mine. He works in mysterious ways and gives us what we need at the right and perfect time.

I’ll close out the seven days with this scripture –

“Count it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that testing your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking in anything. James 1:2-4

We went over a lot in these seven days. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining me. I would love to hear from you. Contact me at angela@angelamillercurtis.com.
